RSO Privacy Statement

Who we are, what we do?

The Rhondda Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is a community-based group which gives members of the community the opportunity to play in a full-sized symphony orchestra. We regularly perform concerts for the public at venues throughout South Wales. Members pay annual subscriptions to support the orchestra.

What and whose personal Information we hold?

Orchestral Members: Name/email/phone number/address

Emailing list of RSO Friends and subscribed audience members: Name/email

Where do we get this information?

Orchestral Members: New members complete a form during their first rehearsal

Emailing list: This information is collected when interested parties complete a form or leaflet that we provide them with

What we do with your personal information?

We use orchestral members information:

  • To send out information regarding RSO concerts, rehearsals and social events and other information we believe our members will be interested in e.g., professional concerts / events and other playing opportunities

  • Member names are printed in concert programmes unless requested otherwise

We use RSO Friends and subscribed audience members information:

  • To send out information regarding upcoming RSO Concerts and Events

  • Names of Friends of the RSO are printed in concert programmes unless requested otherwise

Does RSO share my personal information with any other organisation?

Orchestra member data is sent to HMRC for Gift Aid purposes. Member names are provided to concert venues only when required for security purposes, e.g., Hoddinott Hall.

RSO Friends and subscribed audience members information is not shared with any other organisation.

How long does RSO keep my information for?

We keep your information indefinitely but you can request that we remove your data at any time.

Your information, your rights:

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you important rights, including the right to access the information we hold about you. You can also request that we delete your data at any time.
