Welcome to the website of the Rhondda Symphony Orchestra. We are a long-standing and dynamic community orchestra serving the Valleys of South Wales. Formed in 1968 by Jeff Lloyd BEM, we regularly perform three concerts a year in early December, before Easter and early July, often in major venues such as Hoddinott Hall, St David’s Hall and the Porthcawl Pavilion.
Our repertoire is broad and varied and offers a great mix of enjoyment and challenge to its eclectic mix of members, ranging from music teachers to local musicians and talented youngsters from the locality. Within a supportive, positive and friendly environment, we pride ourselves on our high standards of performance. We are led by our musical director, Edward John, and our orchestral leader, Becci Goss.
The RSO is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (no. 1200455).
If you are interested in joining the RSO, please contact us here. We currently have no vacancies for woodwind or brass but would welcome enquiries from interested string players.
